A judge in NYC has allowed a woman to serve her extremely hard to find husband with divorce papers on Facebook.

According to the article in the NY Daily News, the âpost office had no forwarding address for her husband, there is no billing address linked to his prepaid cell phone, and the Department of Motor Vehicles has no record of him.â
So Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper stepped in and "granted permission serve defendant with the divorce summons using a private message through Facebook."
âThis transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiffâs attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledgedâ by her hard-to-find hubby.
âI think itâs new law, and itâs necessary,â according to the lawyer of the soon to be divorced woman, Andrew Spinnell.
Facebook will need to add a new status - Served and Single.
