A judge in NYC has allowed a woman to serve her extremely hard to find husband with divorce papers on Facebook.

According to the article in the NY Daily News, the “post office had no forwarding address for her husband, there is no billing address linked to his prepaid cell phone, and the Department of Motor Vehicles has no record of him.”
So Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper stepped in and "granted permission serve defendant with the divorce summons using a private message through Facebook."
“This transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiff’s attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged” by her hard-to-find hubby.
“I think it’s new law, and it’s necessary,” according to the lawyer of the soon to be divorced woman, Andrew Spinnell.
Facebook will need to add a new status - Served and Single.
