One Billion spent on Candy Crusher Saga

Are you a Candy Crusher? Apparently there are quite a few fans out there.

The Guardian reports that total sales in just additions for the game amounted to a whopping $1.33 billion.

While publisher King hasn't supplied a figure for the game's lifetime spending, The Guardian estimates that players have likely spent more than $3 billion on purchases at this point. In just the last 18 months, the game's players have spent just around $2.37 billion or so.

The game seems to be winding down, but King has other games in the pipe line. Spending on these other games has risen 136.5 percent between the first quarter of 2013 and 2014; Candy Crush Saga spending, as noted, dropped 46.5 percent in that one-year span.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, King managed to have three of the ten highest-grossing games in the U.S. App Store (for iOS), and four of the highest-grossing games on the U.S. Google Play store.
