Employees arriving to open an Arkansas Kmart were surprised to find a man passed out in the storage room; Robert Pry was covered in vomit and urine and admitted to employees that he had been huffing cans of air duster. His real trouble began when he ran out and decided to re-enter the store to get some more.
KAIT8 reports that just before 8 a.m. Officer Caleb Landreth was dispatched to Kmart, 2010 South Caraway, regarding a suspicious person.
Employees told Landreth when they arrived at the store they found Robert Pry, 21, passed out in the storage room.
The store manager led the officer to the back room and pointed to a pair of feet sticking out from a cubby hole beneath some stairs.
Landreth said when Pry was “covered in vomit and urine.”
When asked what he was doing inside the store, Pry reportedly said “huffing.”
Pry told the officer he entered the store before closing and hid out. Once the doors were closed and locked for the night, Pry said he located the air duster and “huffed all night long.”
According to the report, officers found 16 empty cans of air duster in the cubby area where Pry was found.
Pry was taken to a local hospital after he began complaining of breathing difficulties.
After he was treated, Pry was advised of his Miranda rights and questioned.
Pry reportedly said he took his friend’s truck and drove to the Walmart on Parker Road where he purchased $100 worth of air duster. Officers located the truck on the Kmart parking lot. Inside were several more empty air duster cans.
Pry was charged with commercial burglary; theft of $1,000 or less; breathing, inhaling or drinking certain intoxicating compounds and failure to appear. His bond was set at $1,700.
