The Pentagons Cyber Command is planning on going on the offensive against the Islamic State in an effort to limit the terror organizations online capability.
The Lost Angeles Times has reported that the military's online warriors, which is based in Fort Meade,Md., have created malware and other online tools to take the fight to the IS. The action comes after a White House directive asking that the military take a more active role in the confrontation of the terrorists.
The hope is that the military can confront the IS and its ability to recruit and radicalize Americans via the internet – which is what law enforcement authorities believe happened with the couple who perpetrated the terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif.
Objections have been raised by the FBI and other intelligence agencies claiming it will hinder their ability to track and hunt terrorists both here and abroad.
