Pirate Bay gets virtual asylum in North Korea

We have been waiting and wondering where the Pirate Bay would end up once the love in Sweden ended last week and now we have an answer via TorrentFreak:

“The Pirate Bay says it has been offered virtual asylum in North Korea. The move comes after the Norwegian Pirate Party was forced to stop routing traffic for the infamous BitTorrent site by a local copyright group. “We can reveal that we have been invited by the leader of the Republic of Korea, to fight our battles from their network,” the Pirate Bay says. A traceroute does indeed show that The Pirate Bay is now being routed through the dictatorial country.”

Note: The Republic of Korea is South Korea. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is North Korea. Nice job.

From there, the usual propaganda is spoon fed to you (making North Korea perfect for them) with bullshit like “We have been fighting for a free world, and our opponents are mostly huge corporations from the United States of America, a place where freedom and freedom of speech is said to be held high.

At the end of the day, all Pirate Bay does is provide a front end for thieves, let’s be honest.

Recently, we did a video explaining how Torrent files work, including their legal uses:
