Plex Adds Ability to Skip Advertisements

Posted by: Timothy Tibbetts on 11/29/2017 06:32 AM [ comments Comments ]

Plex has announced that you can now skip advertisements with their popular cord cutting application, but with a "cost."

Actually, two costs. One is the possibility of using a lot of CPU. According to Plex:

"Attempt to detect and remove commercials from recordings automatically. This process may take a long time and cause high CPU usage. A portion of your recordings recognized as commercials will be removed entirely from your video files."

The second is actual cost - you need to buy Plex Plus at $5 per month, $40 per year, or $150 for a lifetime subscription.

About Plex:

Plex Media Server allows you to organize all of your media and stream it to numerous other devices.

You can instantly share your libraries with friends and expand your media universe. With Plex Media Server you can save videos from all your favorite sites and then watch them whenever you want, you can then recommend your favorite picks to your friends.

By combining Plex Media Server and Plex for Android, both of which we list here for your convenience will allow you the freedom to organize all of your videos, music, and photo collections to provide instant access to them on all of your devices.

You can download it for free here on MajorGeeks.
