Dear “news media”:
A selfie, which might one might think is obvious because it contains the word “self” in it, is when a photographer is also the subject of the photograph. It is usually because there is no one else around to take the photo. In this case, it’s a photo of someone taking a selfie that the Pope happens to be in. Stop saying this photo is the first papal selfie. It's not.
