Little information is available at this time, however, we have learned the following:
LeakBase, the for-profit breach notification site, reported that the porn site xHamster was breached and the account details of 380,000 members are being traded on the dark web.
The database of those members includes usernames, email accounts, and what appears to be poorly hashed passwords. Vice's Motherboard obtained a database of nearly 380,000 users, however, it is unclear how the breach occurred.
xHamster told Motherboard that the passwords were encrypted, however, the encryption method was created using the MD5 algorithm which could allow the hackers to obtain the plain text versions of the already cracked passwords.
