Protesters began a demonstration last Friday outside the Bitcoin exchange, Mt. Gox in Tokyo, saying they want to ensure their Bitcoins are safe.
Mt. Gox on Feb. 7 suspended Bitcoin transfers to external addresses which resulted in a drop in value of the currency.

Aaron, a Tokyo resident who asked that his last name not be used, said: “There is a minor technical glitch with Bitcoin and it is not a major security flaw. It does not prevent the ability to transmit the Bitcoins.”
Kolin Burges, who flew to Japan from London, said: “A lot of my future is tied up in the money that’s inside Mt. Gox. I was in a kind of semi-retired state, speculating on coins. If those coins disappear, I’ll have to think more about bringing money in through other means. It wouldn’t be very good for me.”
Mt. Gox has said that transactions will resume soon and an update to the issues will be announced on Thursday. So far, no announcement has been made.
The fear of a possible collapse of the exchange has sent the value of the currency to a low of $180.
The protesters plan on staying until they get convincing answers from Mt. Gox.
