James Garner, best known for his roles in the Rockford Files and Maverick, passed away at his home in Los Angeles, CA., no cause of death has been released yet.
Since suffering a stroke back in 2008 Garner has largely been out of the public eye.


Garner also starred in more than fifty films, including The Great Escape (1963), Paddy Chayefsky's The Americanization of Emily (1964), Grand Prix (1966), Blake Edwards' Victor Victoria (1982), Murphy's Romance (1985), for which he received an Academy Award nomination, and The Notebook (2004).
He was nominated for an Emmy 5 times for his role on the Rockford Files and eventually won in 1977.
He was also honored with the 41st Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2005.
