R.I.P: Russell Johnson, The Professor on Gilligan's Island, Dead at 89

The coconut radios have all gone silent in honor of the passing of Russell Johnson.
Johnson passed away today at his home on Bainbridge Island, Wash of natural causes. His wife Constance and his daughter Kim were with him when he passed.
According to USAToday, originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, Johnson served in World War II before pursuing an acting career. He appeared in several TV programs in the 1950s and '60s, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. But he was best known for his 98 episodes of Gilligan's Island, which aired from 1964 to 1967.
Johnson was predeceased by cast mates Bob (Gilligan) Denver, who died in 2005 - Alan (The Skipper) Hale Jr. in 1990 and Jim (Thurston Howell, III) Backus in 1989.
