A worker in Rutherford, NJ., found a strange glass cylinder filled with florescent-green liquid; there was even a warning note affixed to the top of the cylinder, the worker immediately called police - who then notified the bomb squad.
The employee placed a call to Rutherford Police at around 8 a.m. this morning. North Jersey.com reports Police arrived at the scene, blocked off the street, notified school officials and queried the resident of the driveway where the glass jar was found. After the resident denied any knowledge of the jar, police called in the Bergen County Bomb Squad, said Russo.
One neighbor described hearing what he thought was an explosion like a firecracker at around 9:15 a.m. The bomb squad conducted a "blast and cap" to remove the cap from the jar, Russo said.

The cap was marked "Warning Do Not Remove Cap," "Do Not Ingest," "Never Add Water or Other Substance," and "Warranty Void if Cap Removed."
Yes sir, they called in the bomb squad to detonate a lava lamp. I think that the employee should be required to pay for this whole waste of tax payer money.
