The Robin Hood hacker has been identified as Phineas Fisher. You may remember him as the hacker that breached Hacking Team last year.
Well, he is at it again, only this time he hacked a bank and stole $11,000 which he donated to an Anti-ISIS group in Syria.
Fisher goes by the name of "Hack Back" and "@GammaGroupPR," when he hacked both the Hacking Team and the Gamma Group.
The money he stole was donated to the Kurdish anti-capitalists in Rojava. In all, he donated 25 Bitcoin to a crowdfunding campaign known as the Rojan Plan. Fisher described the group as "one of the most inspiring revolutionary projects in the world."
Fisher did not name the bank or any details of the heist. However, posting on Reddit, Fisher encouraged another hacker to set up ATM skimming campaigns or rob banks and then donate the funds to the Rojava campaign.
