Keeping true to what we reported Bloomberg as saying back in August, Samsung did indeed unveil the Smartwatch at a trade show in Berlin on Wednesday to major fanfare.
The Smartwatch is expected to launch in October, and according to USA Today, the Smartwatch will be available in six colors. It includes a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen, a camera that appears on the watch band, and 4 GB of storage space. Several apps will appear, including Path, Pocket, Snapchat and others.
The device, which will sell for $299, will work worth the company's Galaxy S4 smartphone, the Galaxy Note 2 and 3 models, and the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
Samsung said the Gear can get up to 25 hours of battery life depending on use.
The unveiling is the latest to invade the wearable computing space. Smartwatches in particular could prove highly popular, with companies such as Sony, Qualcomm and Pebble also involved.
