Scammers are targeting Starbucks customers

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 05/15/2015 04:51 AM [ comments Comments ]

Customers of Starbucks are being urged to check their accounts as hackers are targeting the auto reload apps. Hackers are using the auto reload feature of the Starbucks mobile app and gift cards to access your credit card information.

One in every six customers use this feature.

Experts are suggesting that customers disable the auto reload app or change the password and make it at least 12 characters with upper and lower case as well as numbers and symbols.

If hackers get into your system, they can change your email and password so you can't access it. They can then drain your credit card.

Starbucks says it has security layers in place, but it has not denied it is a target.
