Schoolboy drains pond to recover smartphone

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 08/03/2014 06:43 AM [ comments Comments ]

A 16 year old German schoolboy lost his iPhone while fishing in an angling club pond; the Apple lover decided that draining the pond to recover Siri from her watery grave was a sound idea. The club owners not so much.

According to Metro, the boy suggested using his dive suit to retrieve the phone but was denied - so he returned under the cover of darkness with a pump and two hoses.

"I knew the phone was probably dead but wanted to get the data card back with the numbers, pictures and videos of my friends."

The youngster thought that if he directed the water into the angling club toilet he may get away with his plan – but he failed to notice that the toilet wasn’t attached to a sewage system.

The pond water proceeded to the parking lot and flooded the area - alerting the club's owners who then called police.

The phone was never recovered.
