Second Nexus 7 tablet due in July, priced as low as $149?

SlashGear is reporting that Google’s second-gen Nexus 7 is on track for a July release but will see NVIDIA’s Tegra ousted in favor of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, tipsters claim, with newly aggressive pricing ramping up the challenge to the iPad mini.

This is something that I have long complained about like whiny little girl. How is it that all the news reports say that billions of tablets and smartphones have been sold yet many of the prices continue to rise? Typically if you buy something new and in limited quantities you pay top dollar but when it goes mainstream, the prices drop. Not so in this market so we thank Google for making tablets affordable. I noticed most Windows 8 tablet, for example, are over $1.000. Desktop users would be pissed if you charged $100 for doubling hard drive capacity but the masses have been trained to believe this crap.

Here’s hoping Google pulls this one off!
