Secure File Deleter Makes Sure Deleted Files Are Totally Wiped Out

When you delete a file you intend it to be destroyed and rendered unreadable, but as you know this isn't what generally happens - some remnants are always left behind. You need those remnants to be totally overwritten so even if someone gets to them they are useless.

Secure File Deleter allows you to completely and securely delete selected files from your system via an extremely user-friendly UI.

As you know, when you delete a file or folder it's still possible to recover it, even when placed in the recycle bin.

Secure File Deleter aims to completely prevent recovery of those deleted files by replacing the contents with random data. You are given the choice of many security algorithms for data destruction. The program can write a combination of ones and zeroes onto each sector of your hard drive, or any other characters.

Secure File Deleter uses the following cryptographic security algorithms:

  • DOD_5220.22_M
  • Method made by Peter Gutman, world known scientist
  • Algorithm GOST_R_50739_95 which is widely used in different security systems in Russia
  • Less famous, but also very secure - RCMP_TSSIT_OPS_II
  • Method of Mr. Bruce Schneier, German scientist
  • German VSITR algorithm which is used in Germany security systems as well as in other EU countries
  • British standard HMG_Infosec_Standard_5
  • Instructions for US Army AR380_19
  • Instructions for US Air Force 5020
  • Cryptographic pseudo-random number generator CPRNG
  • Random characters written to random places of the file
  • Random characters written to all content of the file
