SentinelOne Guarantees Against Ransomware

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 07/28/2016 09:33 AM [ comments Comments ]

The folks at US-based cyber-security vendor SentinelOne have made a promise to protect its customers from ransomware. They are now offering Ransomware Cyber Guarantee.

The company is assuring that if you get ransomware, they will pay up to $1,000 per workstation or up to $1 million for an entire company if its network was compromised.

"[A]pparently some of the top re-insurers in the world agree with us," a SentinelOne spokesperson explains. "f we miss something and you get infected - we’ll pay the ransom. It’s that simple. And it’s how security is supposed to be. If you can block something - why not guarantee it? Would you buy a new shiny car without manufacturer warranty?"

The company is putting its guarantee in the endpoint security solution that uses machine learning and intelligent automation to collect information about the common patterns seen in malware infections.

It recently found a new strain of the CryptXXX ransomware without seeing it before. However, it will probably be paying some ransoms as ransomware new variants is quite likely to cause some problems for SentinelOne's product at one point or another.
