Small time hackers are an easy catch

We reported about the indictment of Matthew Keys for his role in 2010 hacking incident while he was employed by KTXL FOX 40.

It seems that we are going full steam ahead with the case against him, but what about the cyber terrorist's that actually target our countries infrastructure? Why are we not hearing about those indictments and arrests? Why are we not going full steam with bringing them to justice?

So with that in mind I started to look around the web to see if I was the only one thinking along those lines. Well I am not the only one. It seems that other people are indeed thinking that we are making an example of the Matthew Keys, and the Aaron Swartz' of the hacker world, and the real threats are left to roam around creating actual mayhem, as opposed to pranks in my opinion.

Is this because we are unable to catch the big time guys, or is it just that these 'little' guys aren't really hiding, and it is the path to least resistance.

I don't know about you but it doesn't make me feel any safer having Keys in prison for passing a password so that another hacker could change a headline to something silly, when the real big bad guys are lurking around waiting for the right time to cause a real issue.
