Sony sees success in online sales of “The Interview”

Sony Pictures “The Interview”, wrapped in controversy, is turning out to be the most successful online film in Sony Pictures’ history.
Sony made it available to stream on Wednesday via websites and platforms from various companies, including Sony, Google and Microsoft. Apple began offering it via iTunes on Sunday.
So far, the film has garnered $15million from rentals and sales. Theater sales accounted for an additional $3million. However, the cost to produce and market the movie is estimated at $75million.
