South Korea is urging it internet users to not download unofficial games, as they may be infected with a specific piece of malware planted by North Korea. The purpose of the attack is to infect as many computers as possible to create a DDoS attack on various industries in the South.
The malware collects the IP address and location of the machine and sends the info overseas to a server.
The infected machines can then be used to DDoS targets in the south.
South Korea claims that the North employ 3000 trained operatives bent on wreaking cyber destruction on the south.
The South is under yet another attack by some malware deemed Android/Trojan.Bank.Wroba. This Android banking Trojan disguises itself as the Google Play Store app, stealing log-ins and other information when users access their online banking accounts.
