Spotify still not free to windows phone users

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 05/14/2014 11:16 AM [ comments Comments ]

Spotify upgraded its Windows Phone app on Tuesday giving Windows Phone users access to its Radio and Discovery features.

Android phones or iPhones still get the app for free, but Windows phone users must still pay.

On Windows Phone, once the app is installed, users will get a pop-up warning that users will have to sign up for Spotify Premium to use the app. The cost is $9.99 a month after the 30 day free trial.

Spotify's latest app is a prime example of how Windows users feel that they are being shafted. Users feel that developers are still shafting WP users in favor of the other two platforms.

Windows Phone users would be best served through either Xbox Music or Nokia MixRadio.
