Star Wars Episode VII cast confirmed

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 04/29/2014 03:31 PM [ comments Comments ]

The filming for Episode VII is set to begin in London next month, with a projected release date of December 18, 2015. J.J. Abrams finally announced the highly kept secret of the cast earlier today - the VII ensemble consists of original trilogy cast members; Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Abrams also cast John Boyega (Attack the Block), relative newcomer Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) and Max von Sydow (Minority Report).

Abrams tells USAToday, "we are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII,' and that it is "both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.

I am excited about the prospect of sharing this with the younger crowd and pray that it is as exciting as the original, if not Abrams will be forever known as Jar Jar Abrams... ;)
