Not surprising that one of us here at MajorGeeks would be browsing https://shop.startrek.com/, especially this time of year. I mean who doesn't want a Quarks Bar Beer Stien for Christmas... am I right?
Anyhow, I stumbled on a QR Code checking out the Tridimensional Chess Set that allows you to unbox and view what the set would look like in your office. In this case, my kitchen because there is no flat/clean space in my office.
It's pretty nifty to watch. I've seen similar geekery applied to clothing, but nothing quite like how this works. So figured it was worth a share. You pick a spot, and the box spins and unpacks itself, showing what you would get if you purchased the product. Then set up the board so you can see what the real thing might look like displayed where you may like it. The whole process gives a look into what Augment Reality shopping may look like sooner than later, and I found it........ Fascinating. (had to)
If you are interested - grab your phone and scan this QRCode.

As a note, MajorGeeks is in no way affiliated with CBS or Star Trek. Heck, I think CBS is still a little ticked off at us for the 'Rockin' and Spockin T' we made a few years back. It seems copyright lawyers have no sense of humor. No -- we can't sell you one of those, but if you are interested in our current design, we have them up on the MajorGeeks TSpring site.
