Take a ride in Japan's futuristic underground bicycle vault

Japan by far has the coolest bike parking ever. Culture Japan's Danny Choo sets up a camera on his bike and we get a first hand view of the belly of the beast that is the automated bicycle vaults of Shinagawa, Japan.
Rocket News 24 points out something that also struck me as a funny in the description of what here in the US we simply call thieves; the official explains that the vaults keep bikes safe from “the weather and pranksters.” Pranksters!
That aside, this is really pretty wild, it actually surprised me when the bike disappears into the machine on just how big the vault is.
Sadly I don't think we could have this in any of our big cities here in the US, as they would wind up having more than just bikes stored in them - seems like a good place to hide a body, or maybe if you are homeless it could double as an underground homeless shelter complete with an elevator!
