Two teenagers have been arrested in an alleged hack of the websites of Belgian and French newspapers earlier in the week.
Brussels prosecutors said: "The regional unit of computer crime managed ...to identify the presumed perpetrators" of the cyber-attacks Sunday and Monday.
One is 18 and the other is 16.
Raids were carried out in Belgium which resulted in the finding of "material linked to the events."
It is unclear if others were involved, but if any others are found and are adults, they could face a sentence of one to five years and a fine of up to 100,000 euros as well as an order to reimburse any damages.
The hacking group Anonymous said it tracked down one of the teenagers to Belgium and said he was "an adolescent who was a bit of a games junky."
"Anonymous" said it had transmitted the information to the police in the name of defending freedom of expression.
