Telemetry Remains With the Latest 375.86 NVIDIA Drivers

Posted by: Timothy Tibbetts on 11/16/2016 05:13 AM [ comments Comments ]

Since we first reported last week in our story NVIDIA Adds Telemetry to Latest Drivers; Here's How to Disable It new drivers have been released. We assumed that they might remove telemetry considering the backlash but our research finds nothing has changed.

I decided to totally uninstall my drivers using IObit Uninstaller and reboot. Sure enough, telemetry was gone.

I then installed just the drivers by unchecking everything else under a custom installation.

As you can see, NVIDIA installed only the drivers as requested.

Following a reboot, I used Microsoft Autoruns again, typed in nvidia in the search box, and sure enough, telemetry remains.

I know between MajorGeeks and numerous website links including Reddit, we reached millions of people. Apparently, it wasn't enough, or NVIDIA has their "reasons" for keeping telemetry in place.

If you want to remove it, please see NVIDIA Adds Telemetry to Latest Drivers; Here's How to Disable It.
