Tesla considers giving away its technology to speed up development

Elon Musk continues to surprise this time announcing he may give away the technology that makes his Tesla automobiles.

Anyone into tech and cars (me) will tell you that the Tesla is hands down the best, most desired electric ride among enthusiasts. We are not completely sure about this yet but what we do know is Musk told Tesla shareholders that in order to speed up the pace of adoption of electric cars, Tesla was "playing with doing something fairly significant on this front which would be kind of controversial with respect to Tesla's patents".

All the big players in this game including GM, Toyota and Nissan, could benefit from getting their hands on this technology.
