Sorry Samsung fans, but the iPhone was the best-selling tech product of 2017, selling more units than the No. 2 through No. 5 products combined.

According to Daniel Ives, an analyst with GBH Insights, who compiled the chart for USA TODAY, Apple will sell 223 million iPhones in 2017, up from 211 million phones the previous year.
The rest of the top 5:
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 smartphones: 33 million
Amazon Echo Dot connected speakers: 24 million
Apple Watch: 20 million
Nintendo Switch video game console: 15 million
Analysts expect 2018 to be even better with the introduction of with an update to the SE iPhone and possible price drops on current models as the year progresses.
As a sidebar, we took a chance and got the iPhone X. We don't debate phones, and only one of the three guys here at MajorGeeks uses an iPhone, and that's me. We just don't care what other people like and we find it ridiculous to debate personal choice as proof that one phone is better than the other. As much as I dislike Apple, sadly, I prefer their ecosystem, but I sure wish I could drag-and-drop my music because iTunes is garbage.
I am having a love-hate relationship with it. With the fingerprint, I just put my finger on, and the phone opened. Now, the phone has to be awakened, then FaceId, then swiped. We're hoping that soon they will fix it, so the phone opens on FaceId. There's a lift to wake, but I disabled it because the iPhone x keeps waking on all sorts of movement. We've spotted some people saying this is a stupid idea, but we don't see how it's any different than the one-touch that fingerprint uses.
There, I got that off my chest.
