The postman always drinks twice; the legal limit

A US Postal worker was arrested for DUI while on duty after crashing his mail truck Friday. Thomas M. Hackney, 40, told police he "drank a little bit last night," but had no idea what he was doing moments before the crash.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the messed up mail man was behind the wheel of a white 2001 postal service truck in the 300 block of North Ashland Avenue about 5:30 p.m. Friday when he crashed.

The police report said Hackney could not remember what road he was traveling on and when asked if he was delivering mail he replied: "I was doing pickups, I think. I think I dropped off mail downtown but I'm not sure; I don't remember."

Hackney smelled of alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes, and told police he "drank a little bit last night," but a blood test revealed his blood alcohol level was 0.204, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, according to the report.

Hackney is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26.

Cheers! ;)
