This just confirms my thought process on taking a trip in something that has no motor or any type of traditional control mechanism.
Multiple hot air balloons crash around Denver, CO, KUSA 9 News reports that one person was injured following a crash in which the balloon hit a power line, sparking a small fire. Local police say three people were in the basket and one person was injured. The extent of their injuries is not known. The crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. at Highway 72 and Highway 93.
In unincorporated Boulder County, another downed balloon was reported near Highway 128 and Highway 93.
Jeff Meeker, president of Fair Winds Hot Air Balloons, one of the companies that had a balloon go down, said winds picked up about 45 minutes into the flight.
Meeker says his pilots started looking for places to land and insisted it was not a crash, but a "bumpy landing."
Two of the passengers from his balloon that went down near Boulder were taken to the hospital to be checked out for possible whiplash injuries.
The crashes are all under investigation.
