A reporter for WFTV Channel 9 was stopped by a TSA officer at Orlando airport and told that his valid District of Columbia license was not a valid form of identification. WOW
According to WFTV, the TSA agent didn't seem to know what the District of Columbia was when Justin Gray arrived at the security checkpoint over the weekend.
When Gray handed the man his driver's license the agent demanded to see Gray's passport.
Gray told the agent he wasn't carrying his passport and asked why he needed it.
The agent said he didn't recognize the license from our country's capital...the USA in the top right corner might be one clue...
Gray asked the agent if he knew what the District of Columbia is - he did not. Gray was ultimately allowed to pass through and immediately complained to a TSA supervisor (he knew what DC was).
As a result of this incident all Orlando TSA officers are being educated on what a DC license looks like. They may want to add that DC is not a district of the South American country Colombia - just for good measure.
