Twitter Dumps 360,000 Extremist Accounts

Twitter is taking a bite out of extremist accounts by shutting down another 235,000 accounts linked to violent extremism bringing which brings the total to 360,000 accounts since the middle of 2015.
Twitter is not acting alone. In conjunction with a partnership with organizations that help counter violent extremism as well as other social media platforms and law enforcement, Twitter is using spam fighting tools to bring about meaningful results in its fight against extremist.
“Daily suspensions are up over 80 percent since last year, with spikes in suspensions immediately following terrorist attacks,” Twitter said in the statement.
Also decreasing is the time an account is active and the number of followers it gathers. '
