Since the breach of big name companies such as Target and Neiman Marcus, Congress is going to make businesses ditch the magnetic strip credit cards.
Europay, Mastercard, and VISA, or EMV, smart cards ensure stronger security of credit cards by using chip and PIN or chip and signature technology along with numerous layers of security. Hackers are less likely to attempt to collect information on a chip and create a counterfeit credit card because of the complication and the hassle.
