U.S. takes top honors in most data perves

We are not talking porn, we are talking data, and the U.S. is the home to the largest number of data perverts.

A spreadsheet containing 1568 personal details, credit card and social security numbers was posted to the dark net by researchers Where's Your Data. The spreadsheet contained a watermark that allowed for the tracking of anyone accessing the spreadsheet.

American Tor dark net lurkers viewed the data more than any of the other 22 countries that accessed the data. The experiment started with a phishing scam where the spreadsheet was offered on a dark web service for download from a BitGlass' proxy.

The report reads: "The speed at which the bait was taken was staggering. In the first few days, the data had reached over five countries, three continents and was viewed over 200 times - by 12 days it had received over 1081 clicks, and had spread across the globe to 22 different countries, in five continents."

Belgium users clocked the second top origin for connections viewing. British users came in eighth.
New Zealand, which beat out both Russia and Turkey, came in at thirteenth.
