Update for the Doge Vault hack

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 05/17/2014 02:56 PM [ comments Comments ]

DogeVault said on Thursday that it had lost 280 million coins, worth about US$130,000, after attackers gained access to its virtual machines on Sunday.

According to a notice on its website: “We will make every effort to refund all recovered dogecoins to users. More information on this will be released along with further information on the attack after we have completed our investigation.”

It said 120 million dogecoins had been recovered.

The service said that traders were advised not to move any funds into DogeVault addresses as the security of those accounts are “presumed compromised.”
