Verizon to roll out new XLTE network

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 05/19/2014 02:53 PM [ comments Comments ]

Verizon is rolling out its new XLTE network which promises faster high-speed data delivery.

Taking advantage of the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum, XLTE holds up better in high-traffic areas . Migrating to the AWS means less traffic on the 700 MHz spectrum, on which all non-XLTE-compatible 4G LTE devices continue to travel.

Ken Dixon, chief marketing officer, said: "The industry and tech world recognize this is a big deal, and we want consumers to know, too. We continue to offer the very best network, bar none. Now, XLTE provides an even greater advantage to customers by doubling the 4G LTE bandwidth and providing faster peak speeds in cities coast to coast."

XLTE compatible devices include the new Droid series, the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, and Note 3, and the iPhone 5c and 5s, so you don't have to worry about upgrading your phones.
