According to a release, Facebook is developing new technologies to help crack down on video piracy.
Facebook is working on video matching software that will allow a subset of content creators to identify matches of their videos on Facebook across pages, profiles, groups, and geographies to report content for removal.
The software will be in beta in the near future and will be tested by a small group of media companies, multi-channel networks and individual video creators.
The release said: "In the long-term, our goal is to provide a comprehensive video management system that fits the needs of our partners."
The new technology will complement Audible Magic, Facebook's existing content recognition software, to address the concerns of its partners who have been asking for more tools.
