If you are not in the path of totality and are wondering what the solar eclipse will look like in your zip code don't fear. There is a way to get a preview of the eclipse.

Simply head on over to Vox where they have prepared a pretty neat interactive map of exactly how it will look for you including the moon's block out percentage as well as the number of miles you would need to travel for totality - just in case you want to jump in the car and drive 13 hours for a two-minute view - I hear Charleston, SC is quite nice in August.  ;)



You can also check out the United States Naval Observatory site for statistics which include worldwide locations, etc., but no animation.
