A man in Coralville, ID., was arrested after police found him passed out at the wheel of his car; he was covered in vomit and the vehicle was still running.
According to a University of Iowa Police complaint obtained by the Press-Citizen, officers found 22-year-old Jon Daniel Roupe passed out in his car at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday in Iowa City’s Capitol Street parking ramp.
Police say Roupe was covered in vomit, had the car started and was passed out with his foot on the brake pedal. While police attempting to remove Roupe from the vehicle the car, which was in reverse, started rolling backwards and officers had to shift the car into park, according to the complaint.
Roupe failed a field sobriety test with a .210 blood alcohol content, according to police.
Roupe has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
