Waterproofing your iPhone - Low tech

You could spend up to about $699 on an iPhone, and it would be a tragedy to drop it in the toilet, or the tub, right?

Well, I have heard this rumor that you could use a condom to waterproof your smartphone, and being a lover of all things slightly off, I looked around and guess what? The folks over at Rocket24 had the same idea, and went one step better - they tested it.

The process is simple, and in a pinch very cheap, the kind that they bought were about 175 yen (about US $1.75) a pop. Generally, you use ‘em and toss ‘em, so if you’re doing this every day, the cost will really add up. That means that this is probably something to remember for emergencies (Though now we’re wondering what kind of emergencies would require a condom-wrapped smartphone…).
