After doing a more substantial investigation, Wendy's has admitted that the credit card hack was more extensive than it first thought.
The company now says that 1,025 stores were affected by the point of sale malware. It had first said back in May that only 300 stores were involved in the heist.
Data that was stolen included cardholder name, card number, expiration date, cardholder verification value, service code, and other data. It did not include the three or four digit security number on the back of the cards.
The company promised to publish the list of affected stores on its website, but it has not been published yet.
