When and how smartphones are stolen

One in every ten Americans is a victim of smartphone theft.
Here are the statistics:
44 percent of phone theft victims accidentally left their phone in a public setting
16 percent of phones are stolen in restaurants
11 percent are stolen at bars or nightclubs
11 percent of stolen phones are grabbed directly from victims' pockets, purses, or bags.
When are they stolen:
40 percent of phones are stolen between noon and 5 p.m.
29 percent are stolen between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
18 percent are stolen between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
