Paul Marshallsea and his wife had taken a leave of absence in Australia from their job at a children's charity in the UK because of work related stress. While at the beach a shark was spotted approaching some kids playing in the surf. Mr. Marshallsea quickly ran into the water and pulled the shark by the tail and directed it out to deeper water.

The video was seen worldwide, which included the trustees' of the charity whom immediately fired the couple, stating that a “breakdown of the trustees' confidence and trust in you and your ability to perform."
