Google Chrome wins award - for most vulnerabilities of 2014

What browser had the most vulnerabilities in 2014? The prize goes to Google Chrome.

The Secunia Vulnerability Review 2015 report said the Googles web surfer had more reported vulnerabilities than Oracle Solaris, Gentoo Linux, and Microsoft Internet Explorer which rounded out the top four among the analyzed core products.

Chrome leads the browser pack with 504 reported vulnerabilities followed by Internet Explorer with 289 and Firefox with 171. ( Google would like you to know that all flaws are patched. )

The total number of flaws increased from 728 in 2013 to 1035 in 2014. That included Opera and Safari.

People who didn't patch their browsers the most were Mozilla followed by Chrome and Internet Explorer. Secunia noted that it could be because the browsers went unused.

More than half of Foxit PDF users did not apply patches.

The good news is that 83% of the vendors patched their systems before vulnerabilities were disclosed in comparison to 50% in 2009.
