A Missouri teen almost learned the ultimate lesson in prank failure when he and some of his friends picked the wrong house to "ring the doorbell and run" from.
According to the News-Leader, after the teens targeted the home of Ashley Crossland, 31, the boys ran off, with most going in one direction, but J.D. split off from the group.
J.D. said he started walking when he got around the corner, but then saw a van come around the corner, “driving crazy,” according to the report.
He said he started running again and Crossland tried to run over him whenever he was in the grass off the roadway.
According to what J.D. told police she followed him wherever he went - including yards. At one point she pinned the teen between a fence and told him to "get in the van or she would cut him." The teen got in the van even though, according to his statement, he didn't see a knife, but was scared.
Crossaland made the teen bring her to the house where all the other boys where staying; once there she entered the home and “threatened to slit his throat and everyone’s throats in the house, including the babies.”
Crossland was charged with kidnapping, armed criminal action, burglary and unlawful use of weapon. She was also charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment.
Yup, they picked the wrong house.
