Michelle Chapman, 24, of Par, Cornwall, UK, was arrested and jailed for launching a Facebook trolling attack that prosecutors have called "wicked." The target of her attack was herself in an attempt to incriminate her own family members. The woman set up multiple fake profiles and bombarded her authentic Facebook page with hundreds of foul and abusive messages.
Chapman was sentenced to 20 months in prison and according to This is Cornwall, Chapman then began her year-long campaign of sending abusive messages to herself and making complaints to police.
Officers uncovered the truth when forensic internet inquiries revealed that the Facebook profiles had been created at Chapman's address.
Mr Lee said Chapman initially denied responsibility but eventually admitted the offences in the face of "incontrovertible" evidence.
"She said that she wanted revenge on her father for matters in the past ... she wanted to make their life hell."
Chapman was also slapped with a restraining order and had her computer confiscated.
