Flickr is kicking out Google and Facebook login capabilities; the move will make anyone attempting to use the photo-sharing service be required to have a Yahoo account in order to sign in. I suppose in a sense they are getting Flickr'd out.....
Flickr announced the move by saying only this: If you access Flickr through Facebook or Google, please sign in one last time using the buttons below. You will be prompted to create your new Yahoo account.
So in order to access your Flickr account; if you do not already have a Yahoo one, will require you sign up for Yahoo. Yahoo!!!! Another password and account to deal with. Understandably, the move is to bolster the company's membership base, by any means necessary - regardless of the inconvenience to existing users. Not to mention the inherent security risks that will arise due to the numerous "new' users signing up for Yahoo, leaving an open playing field for scammers to bombard them with phishing type emails about their new accounts.
