Your $1500 Google Glass costs $80 to make

According to TechInsight's Teardown.com, Google Glass, which costs $1500, only costs Google $80 to make.



Securing a pair of the pricey specs, the company tore it apart and their preliminary analysis revealed that the bill of materials for all the parts and pieces used to make Google Glass adds up to a measly $79.78.

A Google spokesperson told PCMag.com in an email: "The estimate is wrong. The Glass Explorer Edition costs significantly more to produce."
